Fomapan 200 Creative is the all-rounder in the range. Fast enough for overcast days and open shade, fine enough for detail work, and a good choice if you only want to keep one black and white film in the bag.
It’s also the odd one out. Where Fomapan 100 and Fomapan 400 use traditional cubic grain, the 200 uses a modern tabular (T-grain) emulsion. That gives it finer grain and a cleaner, more modern look than its siblings.
It’s forgiving. Foma says you can shoot it anywhere from ISO 100 to ISO 800 and develop it normally, so if you set the wrong ISO, or the light changes halfway through a roll, it’ll cope.
Long exposures need extra time. Once your shutter speed is slower than about half a second, you have to give the film more than the meter says. Keep Foma’s exposure table handy.
Develops in Fomadon P, Foma’s equivalent of the classic D-76 developer, or in Rodinal, HC-110 and most other standard developers. Look up times for your developer on the Massive Dev Chart.
